For the last year or so, I have taken on some private clients and cooked healthy, macro friendly meals for them. I realized it would be a great idea to showcase some of these tasty full meal ideas and share with you how easy they are to make, as well as the macros for the dishes. A lot of the clients I have are trainers as well as people just looking for some simple healthy meals, and have very busy lifestyles! I love cooking for them, and this tasty ground pork stir fry is simple to make and very macro friendly!
- 500 grams of ground pork
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp of hoisin sauce
- 1.5 cups of lentils
- 1.5 lbs Brussels sprouts
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 4 tsp of olive oil
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Add the lentils to a pot and add 3 cups of water. Simmer for 15 minutes or until the lentils are firm but cooked. Strain and cool..
- Heat up a pan and brown the ground pork. Drain the fat and add in the garlic, ginger, sesame oil and half of the olive oil. Cook through for a few minutes and add in the hoisin. Cool and transfer to a bowl.
- Add the Brussel sprouts to the pan and add the rest of the olive oil and the chili flakes. Saute for 3-5 minutes until well caramelized. Add in the maple syrup and let cool.
- Portion the pork, lentils, and Brussels sprouts into 5 separate containers.
Whats nice about this pork stir fry is that is was very easy to make for my client. In about 20 minutes I had 5 tasty meals ready for him to go! I wanted to share with you how simple meal prep can be sometimes, and this tasty protein bowl does the trick!
